The Academy
Academia Cremonensis is an international academy of violin-making and bow-making located in the eighteenth century noble palace Mina-Bolzesi, built in an unique position in the centre of Cremona.
This exceptionally building and its exclusive rooms inspires the students and teachers in their daily work and education. The Academia holds a strong position in the cultural life of the city and it is an important meeting point.
Classroom teaching is supported by the highest quality materials and complete equipment selected and developed by the Academia Cremonensis, so every student will experience the access to a professional work environment. They also have knowledge of the cultural and social context of violin making, taking their professional responsibilities seriously.
Most of the lesson hours are individual and take place in each student’s workbench, in support of those practices we provide focused and collective theory lessons.
The Academia supports and promotes an independent and responsible personal and professional growth, thanks to the original working method based on values and inspirations.

A path that allows you to know the basic notions of violin making, from the choice of the wood, the choice of the correct tools for all the phases of construction, to how to build a violin, viola or cello.

Courses
One of the delights of slow violin-making is the experiences in between. The unexpected and unplanned, the strange and sometimes wonderful feelings you end up in discovering the unique and surprising in each piece of wood.
